Adoption Not Abortion: Pimping Adoptees for a "Higher Purpose""

I did not intend to write as much as I have about abortion in this month of National Adoption Awareness but the subject just keeps getting in the way. Abortion is the wild card that pops up in even the best laid plans of reformists and activists. In some weird fit of cognitive dissonance, anti-aborts claim that the  fetus shares the same rights as the already born, but reject the notion that if this sacradotaled fetus is brought to term, born and adopted that it should be treated equal under law once it is secularized. In other words, once the word becomes flesh, it’s on its own.  Adoption and abortion, of course, have little in common, though the increasingly Gospelized adoption industry and the anti-abortion corpos make a seamless fit.  Together they present adoption as a  happy win-win-win solution for the principals involved, when they are actually  manipulating, propagandizing, redeeming and reconstructing these principals for the higher purpose of political pimping. It’s bad enough as is, but  during National Adoption Awareness Month (NAAM), we get a booster shot of happy-dappy juice from the evil twins. STUDENTS FOR LIFEJust as NAAM was gearing up, I received a tweet from Students for Continue Reading →

HAITI: AMERICAN LIFE LEAGUE SAYS NO TO CONDOMS AND CONTRACEPTION FOR HAITIANS

Over the last couple days I’ve collected dozens of new resources on Haiti child lifting schemes–so many that I’m working in overdrive. I am sorting out the the new information. To read my pieces on Haiti, please go to Bastard Nation’s Statement on Haitian Adoption and Babylifts, Operation Pierre Pan Postponed; Politicians Pander, Haiti Child Evacuation: A New Operation Pedro Pan (my keystone Haitian entry), Haiti: Misc. Updates on Adoption and Pat Robertson, and Pat Robertson and Adoptee Rights . ****** We knew it wouldn’t take long! Judie Brown’s American Life League (those rascally friends of the American Center for Law and Justice, NCFA, Tennessee Eagle Forum, and odious others who tried to stop records access to some adoptees in Tennessee) has blown a gasket over International Planned Parenthood sending condoms and birth control to Haiti. If we didn’t know better, we’d think the press release came from Weekly World News. Many of ALL’s press releases read like they do. ALL hints that that IPP is practicing secret eugenics and wants to kill off what Haitian women are left. ALL doesn’t mention that IPP-Haiti is in the field giving primary and essential health care to earthquake survivors. This is sick,” Continue Reading →

Pat Robertson and Adoptee Rights

By now you’ve probably all heard Pat Robertson’s hideous remarks about the earthquake in Haiti. A deal with the devil? And, he can’t even get history right. Napoleon III! I think not! Perhaps the devil was whispering disinformation in his ear to make him look stupid. No wait! He doesn’t need the devil to do that. CBN published a clarification “statement” later, that if anything, makes Robertson looks more stupid now then he did before. Here is a video of Pat broadcasting his dementia to the world. It includes commentary from the Young Turks. I’ve been an avid viewer of 700 Club for 30 years, and have watched Pat edge from pure malevolent crazydom to Altzhmierism before my very eyes. To make Robertson’s looniness relevant to adoption this afternoon, here’s a dialogue between Pat and Jay Sekulow, director of Robertson’s theocentric legal arm, the The American Center for Law and Justice. The ACLJ represented Promise Doe, Jane Doe, Kimberly C, Russ C, and NCFA agency member Small World Adoptions in Doe v Sundquist, the unsuccessful attempt to overturn a Tennessee law that opened records for some adoptees in the state. The ACLJ was backed by amici briefs issued from NCFA, Continue Reading →

ANTI-ADOPTEE JUDIE BROWN FLIPS OUT AGAIN: OBAMA, KRISPY KREME, AND PRO-ABORTION DOUGHNUTS

Thursday, Judie Brown, founder of the American Life League, launched herself boldly where no woman has gone before. Krispy Kreme Celebrates Obama With Pro-Abortion Doughnuts. While we pause for a moment to scratch our heads and ruminate over that headline, I’ll remind readers that in the 1990s, the American Life League attempted to block the implementation of Tennessee’s semi records access law by signing on as an amicus in Doe v Sunquist. Adoptees scare her. Every time an adoptee gets her obc, a woman has an abortion. Most recently ALL made an appearance in the Daily Bastardette when Mrs. Brown evinced disgust disguised as moral confusion over Pope Benedict’s Dignitas personae in which her leader called for a halt to the creation of human embryos and hence embryo adoption. Earlier, Bastardette reported on Mrs. Brown’s angst over a study that indicated that birth control pills encourage women to have sex with men they are compatible with, rather than with men they don’t particularly find attractive or interesting, but whose love juice would strengthen the gene pool. Now. Back to the present and Mrs. Brown’s Krispy Kreme conundrum. According to Mrs. Brown: The next time you stare down a conveyor belt Continue Reading →

POPE V POPCICLES: RATZO SAYS NO-NO TO FROZEN EMBRYO ADOPTION

Friday, the long-waited Dignitas personae (The dignity of a person), was released by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith with the approval of Pope Benedict XVI. You can read the whole paper here. There’s no surprises: birth control = badabortion = badstem cell research = badsurrogacy = bad Added to the B List: snowflake adoption = bad Here is what Dignitas personae says about our frozen brethern: With regard to the large number of frozen embryos already in existence the question becomes: what to do with them? All the answers that have been proposed (use the embryos for research or for the treatment of disease; thaw them without reactivating them and use them for research, as if they were normal cadavers; put them at the disposal of infertile couples as a “treatment for infertility”; allow a form of “prenatal adoption”) present real problems of various kinds. It needs to be recognized “that the thousands of abandoned embryos represent a situation of injustice which in fact cannot be resolved. Therefore, John Paul II made an “appeal to the conscience of the world’s scientific authorities and in particular to doctors, that the production of human embryos be halted, taking Continue Reading →

"PILL GOGGLES’: THE AMERICAN LIFE LEAGUE’S LATEST WACKY ATTEMPT TO KEEP WOMEN CONTRACEPTIVE-FREE

If James Dobson and NCFA confused you the other day, then the latest American Life League Report’s, “Pill Goggles,” will send you straight into full-blown dementia. According to ALL “reporter” Michael Hitchborn, oral contraceptives can “disrupt a woman’s natural abilities to select the perfect mate.” At first I thought this meant that use of “The Pill” (whackjobs love archaic terms) just encourages women to hook up with any appetizing stray male she encounters in a public bathroom without much chance of a Baby Bumble popping out 9 months later. Of course, that’s not what Mr. Hitchborn is scolding us about–at least not in this segment. It’s deeper than that. It’s genes. If that doesn’t work, click here for the fun. Hitchborn explains that a new study, out of the University of Liverpool on histocompatabity complex (HMC), something that enables “opposites to attract” through “subtle smells” suggests that “The Pill” can alter the female olfactory sense causing women to be attracted to men with non-complimentary HMC genes. That is, women on “The Pill” seek out genetically compatible men, not their genetic desirable opposites. This unfortunate mismatch made under the heady influence of “The Pill” inhibits the creation of babies with stronger Continue Reading →

BABY LYDIA: ADOPT HER OR THE STATE OF FLORIDA WILL KILL HER

Back in April, around the time the media hog tied us with the Terri Schiavo Deathwatch, a disabled newborn girl, “surrendered” at a hospital in Miami, got pimped around the Internet. Baby Lydia, as she is now called, was born without most of both arms and only one leg. Part of her chin is missing. She breathes through a tube in her throat and she is fed through a tube in her stomach. According to a news article in the May 17 Miami Herald, Lydia’s placement was assigned to the Gift of Life adoption agency in Pinellas Park, the same location of the recently ended Schiavo Dog & Pony Show. On April 4, only a few days after “pro-life” demonstrators were hauled off to the slammer in Pinellas Park, Bastardette received an email from Leslie Tignor, director of the Associate Program of the anti-abortion/anti-gay/anti-science/anti-everything American Life League, an organization that, btw, signed on as an amica in Doe v Sundquist to keep adoption records sealed in Tennessee. Tignor implored her readers, at the behest of baby dump entrepreneur Nick Silverio, founder of Florida’s Safe Haven for Newborns to consider adopting Baby Lydia lest she be dealt the same state-imposed fate as Continue Reading →

ACLU SLAGS ADOPTEES AGAIN

For years fresh-faced adoptee rights activists have asked, “Why won’t the ACLU help us?” Bastardette freely admits that she, back in the days of yore, also asked that very same question. One would think that an organization that has long stood for the rights of individuals against the state would come to our aid and defense. Unfortunately, like their NCFA bed buddy, the American Civil Liberties Union does not consider adopted adults responsible or important enough to own our own personal information nor do they consider birth parents competent enough in the art of JUST SAY NO if they truly want to be left alone. After all, unlike ACLU elites who are always rational and in control, birth parents couldn’t even keep their pants on to start with, so what can you expect? As a typical liberal institution the ACLU, pretends to be sympathetic to upstart adoptees (we feel your pain) but acts as mouthpiece for the state (take a mutual consent registry and don’t call me in the morning, you ungrateful bastard!) The latest attack on adoptees comes from Deborah Jacobs, Executive Director of the ACLU-New Jersey in the April 21, 2005 edition of the Asbury Park Press. Responding Continue Reading →
