HAPPY MOTHERS DAY FROM A CHILD’S WAITING

This morning I was eating breakfast on my front porch, reading our neighborhood newspaper, The Booster. Past the news of the Clintonville Area Commission elections, police reports, and way too much high school sports comes a full page Mothers’ Day ad: Thank You Mom…for Life. The ad contains a couple pictures of white newborns and a long list of Northwest Columbus Catholic Churches and individual members in each parish who “proclaim our commitment to the sanctity of Human Life” The page is paid for by Columbus Right to Life, Bethesda Post-Abortion Outreach and A CHILD’S WAITING. Yes you read that right! A Child’s Waiting. Who knew that the Skank Sisters, Jenny and Crissy (owners of ACW), were so devout? I bet they go to Mass five times a week: Give us your baybees, lest our business die!

It takes real chutzpah for an adoption agency with 40 violations and a 3-week ODJFS licence revocation hearing coming up in June, not to mention the Bennett lawsuit (and here and here), to link itself to Columbus Right to Life. Have they no shame? (You don’t have to answer!) Does Columbus Right to Life have a clue to ACW’s troubles with the law? Whether they do or not, as a non-fan of “right to life” I can only celebrate this bit of hubris.

ACW is no stranger to Ohio “right to life” organizations. My best friend Google and I did a quick search this morning and found A Child’s Waiting is:

  • listed as a “Pro-Life Business that Supports” Summit County (Akron) Right to Life
  • linked by Cleveland Right to Life
  • a member of Hands of Hope, a Cleveland-area coalition of 30 organizations that “promote[s] a culture of life which values, supports, and sustains the life and health of all human beings.” You’ll also find a list of ACW events in their calendar, including a March 28 workshop on Birth Parents Grief and Loss at Akron City Hospital. (We doubt if Stephanie Bennett was invited to speak.)

I bet there’s more connections if I feel like digging.

Hypocrisy has never been in short supply with these people. Just look at the horror with which so-called “pro-lifers” meet unashamed, angry natural mothers and their uppity bastard offspring–most recently with Ohio’s HB 7. Abortion Bad! Adoption Good! Seal adoption records! Keep them sealed! Never let Mom and Kid know each other. Be grateful! You saved a life, what more do you want? You were saved from the dumpster, what more do you want? Shut up! We know what’s best for you!

Mothers Day is no exception. If anti-aborts really cared about mothers they’d get their noses out of their wombs, their fingers off of our records, and let us all go about our business free of their hectoring.

And if they really cared, they wouldn’t be cavorting with A Child’s Waiting.

  1. Oh Marley. Let them have it, Girl..don’t hold back…LOL I LOVE this. These people have more gall than good sense. Of all the nerve and a workshop on grief and loss? How do they know what we need in that area. Simple lecture…Hi, welcome to our workshop on (natural)mothers grief and loss. To help the (natural)mother through this difficult process, give her baby back to her. Thank you and Good Evening.

    ;o)

  2. Yeah, that’s an early morning coffee spitter for sure.

A culture of lies and likely license revocations.

I can think of few parties more deserving of one another.

Pregnancy outcomes under a womyn’s control are not “abortion vs. adoption”, they are in reality, abortion vs bear to term.

The decision of whether to self parent or place the kid for adoption is a chronologically second ‘decision’ (when womyn’s autonomy has power in either of these ‘decisions.’)

Only professional conflationists, pro-liars, like these craft the outright lie that the so called ‘opposite of abortion is adoption’.

But even to take their false conflation at face value still provides a degree of dark humour in the face of what they’re really asking:

‘We demand you not have an abortion- give it to criminals for resale instead.’

So by all means, take out ads such as this, we’ll gladly hang A Child’s Waiting around Right to Life necks forever.

After all, if they have no shame associating themselves with such scum, far be it from me to not point such associations out.

But then Right to Life groups across the country have never had many qualms about associating themselves with shall we say, people of dubious quality (see my and my partner’s earlier reporting “Norma McCorvey’s Strange Bedfellows.”

But all is not lost Bastardette, consider their ad a gift to Original Mothers everywhere.

I couldn’t make the nature of the compulsory pregnancy/adoption-only racket any clearer if I tried.

It’s pure letter to the editor fodder.

  3. I knew you’d like this BLC. The incredible cluelessness of this even surprises me. The Bennett case has received no coverage in Columbus, and call me stupid, but…if you’re going to partner with somebody shouldn’t you make sure they’re clean? This is worth a follow-up.

  4. Yeah – why hasn’t the Stephanie Bennett case received more coverage in Columbus?

Come to think of it, ACW supported BBAS Richard J. Marco’s judgeship bid in Medina County. They had his campaign sign in front of their offices.

There was also a campaign sign in front of a child for Scumbag Marco.

It’s far too easy for these child stealing and pimping “sisters” to use the RTL movement as a shield.

They are NOT doing God’s work. They are profiting from misery.

  5. What you said E! This is the local type of itel we all need to check on. AdoptionLand is incestsous and full of special interests and conflicts of interest. I have no doubt the Skank Sisters have sperad themselves all around.

  6. I have an edit to make to my hastily written post:

“There was also a campaign sign in front of a CATHOLIC CHURCH for Scumbag Marco.” Somebody in Medina told me that.

The Skank Sisters – Marando & Kolarik – are masters of the media game. Spreading themselves around indeed. Between the “Be My Baby” ABC show in 2004, the Internet and the 2nd Hand Kid program, they’re RAKING IT IN.

That’s a big reason why they don’t want to go under – or be found out. On top of being aided & abettted by larger groups such as the RTL movment.

  7. OMG. What a great post. I think I should tattoo this on my body:

Mothers Day is no exception. If anti-aborts really cared about mothers they’d get their noses out of their wombs, their fingers off of our records, and let us all go about our business free of their hectoring.

  8. Have you ever met a larger group of busybodies as the “right to life” folks? They not only object to “reproductive rights” but gay sex. I think it’s sex that’s not reproductive. To carry this to its logical conclusion, Amanda, you and your husband should seek an immediate divorce (or stop having sex), and people over 60 shouldn’t be married at all.

A friend of mine who is opposed to abortion is puzzling that they think everything is related to abortion. In fact, I was told a few years ago that the Cavemen downtown consider “womens health care” code for “abortion.” My friend may be opposed, but the subject is way way way down on is list of things to get upset about–as it probably is for most people. Unfortunately, these big mouths with big feet tramp through our lives causing immeasurable harm. And if you do adopt, Amanda, you will be immediately considered by them to be an evangelical christian doing God’s will.

  9. LOL. No I do not believe I have ever met a larger group of meddlers.

I’ll let you Jacob know what the nutjobs think we should do 🙂
